Excess Baggage

Our passengers are given certain allowance for the baggage that can be carried in the cargo compartment of the aircraft during domestic flights. As for the international flights, the baggage allowance varies by the flight package and the route of flight. You can find the package contents of our domestic and international flights here.

Our passengers who have excess baggage on domestic or Northern Cyprus flights can buy excess baggage allowance on AnadoluJet website or mobile application and our passengers who have extra baggage on international flights can make their transactions via Turkish Airlines website or mobile application, without having to go to the airport. The excess baggage fares are shown in the following table.

Excess Baggage Fare for AnadoluJet Domestic and Northern Cyprus Flights

*Discounted domestic excess baggage fares are applicable to the purchases made on AnadoluJet and Turkish Airlines web or mobile application until the last 3 hours to the flight. The discount applies to AnadoluJet flights only.

Excess Baggage Fare for AnadoluJet International Flights

%25 discount is applied for excess baggage to be purchased through online channels until 3 hours before the flight. The discount is not valid on special fares for EcoJet, Extrajet and ComfortJet packages.

! On the international-to-international connecting AnadoluJet flights, the total fare is obtained by calculating the excess baggage fare of each flight separately. Special fares for EcoJet, ExtraJet and ComfortJet packages are not applicable on these flights.

Miles&Smiles Member’s Extra Baggage Allowance on AnadoluJet Flights

On domestic and international AnadoluJet flights, the Miles&Smiles member passengers can have free extra baggage allowance determined as per their membership status.

General Rules

• You can buy the excess baggage allowance from the additional services menu on AnadoluJet and Turkish Airlines online channels during booking, check-in or after you have bought your ticket.
• If the flight is changed against the passenger’s will, the purchased excess baggage and sports equipment allowance is not transferred to the new flight automatically. It is necessary to apply to the sales offices to transfer the purchased excess baggage and sports equipment allowance to the new flight, or refund them.
• If the baggage weight provided for the flight is lower than the purchased excess baggage allowance, the unused baggage allowance is not refunded. If the registered baggage weight provided for the flight is higher than the purchased excess  baggage allowance, it is mandatory to pay the excess baggage fare corresponding to the weight difference.
• In connecting flights, no refund will be made for the excess baggage allowance purchased, even if it is used in part of the flight and not used in the rest of the flight.
• Excess baggage allowance cannot be purchased for infant passenger.
• One piece of baggage may not be heavier than 32 kg.
• The purchased excess baggage allowance may not be transferred to the 3rd persons.
