There are many different opinions for Kerasus, the former name of Giresun. Among these views, the prominent assumption is that the name comes from the cherry fruit that is grown in Giresun.

As a result of continuing archaeological studies at the Kurul Kayası Region which is one of the historical values of the province of Ordu, a Cybele sculpture which is thought to be approximately two thousand years old was found. Besides this region which is also called "Kurul Castle", Yason Burnu (Cape of Yason) and the church situated nearby are also of an important historical value. One of the most important features that make Yason Burnu interesting is legend. The "Golden Stone" story, called Argonaut Legend, will draw your attention with its mythological items. Places to Visit

It is possible to observe the dance of the hills extending towards the side of the sea and Giresun with a wide perspective in Boztepe, which comes first to the mind when talking about Ordu.
