Aşure (Noah’s Puddıng) Concerts
Aşure, the contents of which vary with the geographical location of the country where it is made, has inspired composer Mehmet Can Özer. “Aşure: Blending Electro-acoustic Music with Traditional Instruments” started as a project in 2006 and has eventually yielded good results.
Musicians from Turkey and neighboring countries such as Syria, Iran and Bulgaria have been appearing in a series of concerts over the past two months within the scope of the Ankara Goethe Institute’s neighborhood project in partnership with the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation. Eda Sözer (violin) and Güloya Altar (French horn) from Turkey will be appearing on November 2nd, and Theodosii Spassov (pipe) from Bulgaria will be greeting with music lovers in Ankara on November 9th.
