Legends In İzmir

The 24th International İzmir Festival is starting on June 16th. Twelve different activities are scheduled to take place during the festival, which is organized with the contributions of the İzmir Culture, Art, and Education Association (İKSEV), the Prime Ministry Promotion Fund,the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Eczacıbaşı Holding, and İzmir Development Agency. The festival, which will begin with award winners Alexander Ghindin, David Lively, Janis Vakarelis and Cyprien Katsaris’s ‘Four Pianos, One Conductor’, is sure to draw attention with Michele Campanella’s recital, Wagner’s ‘Flying Dutchman’ Opera, and a concert by Ensemble Amarcord.

‘BOHEMIAN MEMENTOS’
Consisting of the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra’s soloists and performers, who have all received awards, The Philharmonics Group will be in İzmir following their appearance at the Salzburg Festival. The group, which will be greeting audiences with a program containing their boutique pieces, which they named ‘Bohemian Souvenirs,’ will interpret pieces composed by Chick Corea, Johann Strauss, John Williams and Michel Camilo.
