For years, model aircraft championships have been organized around the world. The most important of these championships are the World Championship and the European Championship, followed by the World Cups. The International Aviation Federation (FAI) decides where and when these types of organizations will take place. At the FAI meeting in 2008, it was decided that the F1A, F1B, and F1C branches of the 2010 European Free Flight Model Aircraft Championship would take place at Müsellim Village in Kırklareli’s district of Lüleburgaz, Turkey. The competition, which will take place between July 18th-25th, is of first-class importance among international events. It will boast 1,200 model planes with nearly 300 sportspeople from 30 countries. What seperates this sport from others is that the flying models are usually produced by the competitors themselves and with much effort. For detailed information: www.ec2010turkey.com
