Dear Guests, Civil aviation in Turkey has developed spectacularly in the last six years, in what is rightly considered an ongoing golden era of historic proportions. The start was given in 2003 with the incentivization of regional aviation, deregulations, the annulment of various taxes and the liberalization of the sector, as a result of which the domestic flight segment grew by 285 % and the number of passengers increased fourfold from 2004 to 2009. While the growth can be partly attributed to more frequent flying by existing customers of the airlines, the major determinant was the influx of a broad mass of firsttime fliers.
Throughout this period, the number of passengers flying from Ankara to Anatolian towns fluctuated around 1 million annually until the launch of AnadoluJet. We set out on April 23, 2008, to cut down distances, and to bring Anatolia closer together , guided by a corporate vision that states, “speedy transportation is not a privilege, but a basic need.” Before long, we rejuvenated our fleet with new generation planes. Our low-cost no-frills concept allowed us to offer a 59 TL tax included price to the first 29 passengers on every AnadoluJet flight in a highly popular campaign that will continue throughout the winter season. The central location of Ankara where we have our base of operations; the excellent transfer point capabilities of TAV Esenboğa Airport, the recipient of ACI Europe’s “Best Airport 2009” award; our extensive flight schedule with almost 70 flights daily between Ankara and 25 Anatolian towns; and the way we manage to connect these 25 destinations not only to Ankara, but to each other as well through prompt and economic connections, were all key factors in our success. For instance, AnadoluJet passengers who fly from Mardin to Izmir via Ankara only pay the price of the longer flight plus a tax included fixed price of 25 TL for the transfer flight, instead of having to pay for the two laps of the journey separately. What is more, they have the choice of continuing to İzmir as soon as they touch ground in Ankara, or picking another flight within the next 24 hours to better accomodate their travel plans.
We are proud of having met our targets with up to 85 % fill rates that we attained in just a matter of months, not to mention an impressive 92 % rate of timely departures we were able to maintain throughout the busy summer season. AnadoluJet is also honored to have received the transportation sector award in Northern Cyprus Turkish Hotel Managers Association’s “Green Olive Special Tourism Awards” last month, a distinction we merited for achieving high fill rates averaging around 80 % on the inaugural Hatay-Nicosia route. Not content to rest on our laurels, we are now setting our sights higher. As new planes join our fleet, we will be launching new routes to bring the comfort of flying within the reach of a broader segment of population. University students especially should keep an eye out for our soon to be launched Jetgenç campaigns. Without going into detail, we can hint that AnadoluJet will be adding new perks to the existing 25 % lower prices we have on offer for young customers : concerts, shows, flight simulations, the “flighty ten plus one” campaign, and so much more... ALLOW US TO TAKE THIS OCCASION TO WISH A BLISSFUL MONTH OF RAMAZAN AND A HAPPY EID TO ALL ANADOLUJET GUESTS.
