The 12th International İzmir Short Film Festival, which is İzmir’s only film festival, is being held November 16–20 at the French Cultural Center. Over 1,300 films from sixty-five countries were submitted to the festival, in which 114 films from thirty-eight countries are set to compete. Notable among the films selected are “The Lost Thing,” the Oscar-winning 2011 animated film; the BAFTA-award-winning “Until the River Runs Red”; and “Broken Night,” which won a Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. The program also features three very special short films made by Jean-Luc Godard from 1993 to 2002.
