The Antakya Civilizations Choir, comprised of 120 Muslim, Jewish, and Christian singers, has been nominated for the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize.
The singers in the choir are from different religious backgrounds and trades, including the likes of Muslim imams, Christian priests, nuns, students, teachers, jewelers, and architects.
The biggest dream of the choir is to perform in the Gaza Strip in a hall where half of the audience is Israeli and the other half is Palestinian. The Civilizations Choir, founded by the Governorship of Hatay within the scope of the 2007 Tourism Week events, plans to start a tour in the USA in the near future.
