Located at the Southwest Anatolia, Dalaman is one of the districts of Mugla city situated at the west of Mediterranean Region. After the international airport to be opened and the over investments in the developments of roads and the high rate of development in the settlement area, Dalaman has come to the fore from day to day.

Tourist Attractions

Dalaman is a natural heaven. In addition to its historical works and natural facilities, Dalaman is settled on an area getting blue and green together.

Gocek Coves are among the most magnificent natural beauties of the district. Kursunlu, Akbuku, Gobun, Boynuzboku and Sarsila coves are some of the natural marvels. Travel these coves to discover how catchy the nature can be. Also, Dalaman Stream is another benefaction by nature.

Krya and Lycia settlement areas at the coast of Kapidag Peninsula and Kayadibi, Coymen, Kavacik, Gurleyik, Bozbel villages placed at the northeast of Dalaman are the main artifacts of the district. You should travel these areas to witness the history lived in Dalaman. Also, Lycia ruins placed at Srefler Village are available to be seen.

Also, you should travel State Production Farm.


Kalynda Arcahic City on the way between Dalaman and Fethiye is a Karian city within the borders of the district.

Hippokome settlements located at Cogmen Village can be attractive for you.

The carved tombs at the Limestone Mountain are the historical structures that you should exactly see.

Iztuzu Beach, the world's 6th most famous 6 km long beach, is also at Dalaman.

Culture & Entertainment

Handloom and embroidery are the main authentic handicrafts of Dalaman. Especially, oya (a kind of embroidery) is pretty pervasive. Special courses are initiated to teach oya.

Sea and Yacht tourism in Dalaman is pretty developed. The district has many eligible coves and islands to get all the pleasure you can out of sea and nature. Boynuzbuku, Siralibuk Cove, Siralibuk Port, Sarsila Cove, Small Sarsila Cove, Kapi (door) Cove, Hamam Cove, Yavansu Cove, Domuz (pig) Cove, Uzun Ali Cove, Kapidag Peninsula and Small Kapidag Peninsula are just some of them convenient for yacht tourism

Gocek is a popular place for sea tours. You should try it before leaving Dalaman. Dalaman Stream is one of the popular places for rafting not just for Dalaman, also, for Turkey.

Tasyaka which is one of the bays placed at Kapidag Peninsula is eligible for water sports tourism. At the north of Dalaman Ak Bridge, rafting is practiced.   

Dalaman also is famous with its beaches. Iztuzu Beach is one of the most enticing and amusing beaches of the district. You can bask in the sun on that beach.
There are a great deal of shops, restaurants, bars and tea gardens, especially, lined up in the sea coast. You can entertain yourself accompanied with live music at these places.

Kapikirgin, Incebel and Therme Maris are significant sulfurous water sources. Kocagol and Kargin lakes are among the natural treasuries of the district.  

There is an active Turkish Bath found at Dalaman. The bath is placed at Hurriyet Neighborhood.

Food & Drink

Artisan eating houses and restaurants at the center of the district serve quality and delicious dishes. You can find every kind of snacks, vegetable, fish and meat foods at these places. Especially, throughout the year, you can find fish at all the restaurants near the cost.

The restaurants placed at the sea coast are the favourite places for people going to or coming from cruises. You will be able to find every kind of fish at these restaurants.

Shopping

Maybe, you will not face modern air-conditioned and huge shopping centers at Dalaman. Yet, simple, elegant and quite different local bazaar will not disappoint you. Traditional goods, trinkets, ubiquitous Turkish rugs, ceramic plates, bowls, jugs, painted pots, leatherwear, Ottoman style hookahs and more are sold at this nice bazaar. Onyx is prevalent here. Ashtrays, vases, chess sets and bowls made of onyx are very popular.
