In Turkey, over three million students take part in a university placement exam each year, and a figure which continues to rise. Entering a university is the stuff of dreams for some people and the exam to get in is far from easy. Preparation for the exam is also a difficult process. However, with the increasing number of state and foundation universities opening recently, it looks as though graduating from a university will no longer be a dream for those who wish to receive university education.

STATE UNIVERSITIES
Ahi Evran University, Kırşehir
Ahi Evran University, which graduates its first students in 2006, has around 14 thousand students. Ahi Evran University, which also has a medical school, is the strongest candidate for being the most attractive university in Anatolia.

Uşak University, Uşak
In the main campus that is seven kilometers away from the city center, there are five schools and a technical training institute. The university, which was established in 2006, has almost 10 thousand students.

Rize University, Rize
While it used to be a subsidy of Karadeniz Technical University when it was initially founded, Rize University consists of theSchools of Science, Literature, Aquaculture, Theology and Education. Fındıklı and Rize Technical Training Institutes, which were passed on by Karadeniz Technical University has Schools of Medicine, Economics and Administrative Sciences, while Ardeşen, Pazar Health Training Center has institutes of Science, Social Sciences and Health Science, which were established at later dates.

Hitit University, Çorum
Part of Gazi University until 2006, Hitit University established Economics and Administrative Sciences, Engineering, Science and Literature, Theology, Veterinary and Medical Schools, as well as Health, Physical Education and Sports Colleges later on. The Çorum, İskilip, Sungurlu and Osmancık Ömer Derindere Technical Training Institutes were then incorporated into Hitit University.
 
Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen
University, Ağrı
The School of Education is one of the most important academic units in Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, the foundation of which was laid by the establishment of Ağrı Girls’ Primary School Teacher Training Center. Within the university, which was founded in 2007, there is an Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty, as well as the School of Education.

Sinop University, Sinop
Established in 2007, Sinop University has Schools of Science, Literature, Education, Aquaculture, and Economics and Administrative Sciences, five Technical Training Institutes, two institutes,
and a health college.

Kilis 7 Aralık University, Kilis
Established in 2007, Kilis 7 Aralık University serves with its Science, Literature, Education, and Economics and Administrative Sciences Schools, a Health College,
a Technical Training Institute, a Health Services College, and a Social Sciences Institute as well as a Science Institute.

Mardin Artuklu University, Mardin
Established in Mardin,
The province of stones, history and culture- in 2007, the university has Architecture, Education and Fine Arts Schools, in line with the history and structure of the province. There are also institutes of Science, Social Sciences and Living Languages, Technical Training Institutes and a State Conservatory in the university, which first accepted students in 2007-2008 academic year.

Tunceli University, Tunceli
There are four schools in Tunceli University, namely those of Aquaculture, Engineering, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Literature. The presence of the School of Aquaculture will present various possibilities for Tunceli, which is well known for its water resources and its beautiful nature, regardşng the preservation of nature and utilization of water resources.

FOUNDATION UNIVERSITIES
Gediz University, İzmir
Founded in 2006 by the Cavalry Training, Sports and Health Foundation, the university has Schools of Law, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Agriculture, and Engineering as well as a Technical Training Institute and two institutes. There is also an English Preparatory School, which teaches English to all students of the university in the first year. The lectures are given in English language.

Melikşah University, Kayseri
Melikşah University, founded in 2008, is the first private university of Kayseri, which is an industrial province in Anatolia. The university, which began to accept students in the 2009-2010 academic year, has schools of Science, Literature, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Engineering, and Law.

Mevlana University, Konya
There are Schools of Engineering, Education, Business Administration, Law, Medical, Pharmacy, and Health Services as well as a Justice College in the university which will start accepting students in the 2010–2011 academic year.

KTO Karatay University, Konya
The university, which was founded in 2009, will start accepting students in the 2010-2011 academic year. It has Schools of Law, Fine Arts, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Science and Literature Faculties, and all lectures -except for Law- will be given in English, and a preparatory English education will be given to all students.
